Gmail Colored Labels

You can now use colors to distinguish labels in Gmail with Gmail 2.0. Click the color swatch next to each label to assign a color:You can also easily remove labels from the top of an email:

Would be much more interesting/useful to label contacts, not only messages. Labelling all work-related contacts would mark all work related mail with one label & color. There's no other way to do that. Contact groups are not that useful.

You can actually do that now with filter. Set up a filter that puts all incoming mail from certain contacts into a label that is color coded. :)
