Get into Google Maps

To celebrate the Australian National Day in 26 Janurary, Google has decided to capture high-resolution images for Google Maps / Google Earth in Sydney.

Google Australia is celebrating Australia Day 2007 by photographing Sydney Harbour from the air, and we want to make sure as many of us as possible squeeze into the picture.

So when you see the Google branded plane flying overhead this January 26th, hoist a sign, arrange your family into a fun formation or just get a bunch of friends together to wave.
There are a few countries at present which has localized products excluding US including Australia, Japan, China and UK. For other countries, most likely promotions and products are created from the US headquarters. Like any other industry, adapting to the new environment is always a great challenge (which Google is now facing in China with a strong competitor Baidu which is still leading the online search industry in China).
