Black Google, Save Energy

ecoIron made an interesting post about blacking Google's homepage to save 3000 MegaWatts per year.

An all white web page uses about 74 watts to display, while an all black page uses only 59 watts.

You are totally correct as LCD monitors already consume less energy than traditional CRT ones. Thanks for reminding ;)

I liked his post. It was very fascinating stuff. I don't have an LCD monitor yet, but his idea would make all websites easier for me to read without having to change font size.
